November 9th: The chair that I sat
on in my home office starting back in 1996 finally died. The
pillar with the shock absorber in it broke. This area is so rich
that I've already got a chair to replace it taking up space. That
was a very comfortable chair, and I'm sorry to see it go. Torn
between thinking "That's just corporate america's planned
obsolescence striking again." and "That shock absorber was part of
what made it so comfortable. There is a price to be paid for such
moving parts." Got it during my AOL days, and was very aware it
was as nice as the chair I sat in at work. Didn't sit in it much
until I left that world behind. Probably I got seventeen good
years of sitting out of it.
During my trip to
see the eclipse in Tennessee, I read Al Gore's new book.
July 4th, 2017: We marched with the
Rose, White, and Blue parade through the Rose Garden area of San
Jose. Had a great time and gave out lots of little Green Party
fliers.
