1/31/2006: About
half
an hour after the State of the Union adress (my favorite quote from
which is above) Apple called me up. My computer, which they had fixed
for free, was ready to pick up at the Apple Store on University in Palo
Alto. An hour or so later I was forced to conclude the only problem now
is that it doesn't run GIMP anymore. For some reason X11 isn't
compatible with the new motherboard.

Yesterday
I found out that my iMac G5 that I've enjoyed using to make this
website would cost at least $925 to repair. There was something wrong
with the logic board. Since a Linux box to do the same thing could be
aquired for a third that much, I've decided to walk away from the
Macintosh. As I type this, my desk has on it what looks like an E Net
box that is running Debian Linux.
For me, the big
event of the Green Party of California December '05 Statewide meeting
was handing
out copies of the flier you can see by clicking above to everybody that
was even remotely interested in taking one. It was my way of throwing
my hat in the ring as a contestant for the Senate nomination. The
response was good. Now all I have to do is follow through and get my
name on the ballot. Then it really gets interesting. As I type this,
there are two other names in play for this office, and I don't know
much about those campaigns...
