I really like how
reflective my new rear tire is. I got the other one most of a year ago
now. At the time I didn't know what to think of it, but I've grown to
like the added visibility that the reflective stripe gives me in
lights. This is the first time since the first back tire wore out
(maybe eight years ago now) that the tires have matched this much.
Malalia Joya spoke at
San Jose State on November 9th. Among the things she said was that
Afghanistan would be much better off if the US troops would leave. She
said her book tells the story of her generation to date, and it does.
It also talks about how she became the
youngest member of the Loya Jurga, the body that came up with the
Constitution later used to elect Hamid Karzai in Afghanistan. I got it
that evening and read it while riding trains and buses over the next
month or so.
It's a good read. After I finished reading the thing, I gave it to my
sister.
