March 23rd: This is the time of year shrub likes to put out new leaves.

  

Out of Balance has a lot to say about the things Exxon has done to make it look like using fossil fuels is okay. For example, the movie documents many millions of dollars spent on public relations, and shows how the think tanks they give the money to work. One thing they do over and over is pay people with scientific credentials to say things that boil down to "global warming might not be caused by human behavior." The narator then explains that journalists that hear this feel obligated to report both sides. This is a win for Exxon because as long as it appears that there is debate on the issue risk adverse incumbents feel no need to take a stand on the issue, resulting in  further delay on the changes we need.

  

 

Bush went on the air to say we needed more Troops in Iraq. Lots of people didn't like that message enough to take to the streets. Click on the above pictures to see what I saw right here in Mountain View.
