Now I've had that
silver globe for about four years. It's still an awesome joy to ride.
The most recent sticker addition is the San Jose with the bike love
logo instead of an "o". It's turning out to be a good destination tag
when I'm going to San Jose on Caltrain, which happens much more often
than it used to.

10/3/2011:
The
camera
I used to take all of the pictures below got lost yesterday.
I accidentally left it on at the light rail stop when I boarded the
train on the way to the "Occupy San Jose" teach in and march. I was
half an hour down the road before I realized I'd forgotten it. I went
back on the next train and it was gone. All that was left in the spot
was the stuff in the pockets that had given it personality. Things like
the "LEGALIZE IT" pin I'd never taken off after the initiative I made
it for last year got defeated at the ballot box. I went to the protest
and chanted along with everyone else, but my ability to share with you
what I saw was gone. I spent the day moping about the loss and
pondering what
to do next.
9/26/1022:
I
dropped
my
last
batch
of
signed
forms
like
the
one
above
in
the
mail.
The
deadline
for
gathering
signatures
was
at
the
end
of
September
but
I
wanted
to
leave
the
organizers time to sort them
out by county and so forth. The rumor I heard was that the initiative
is not likely to make it on the ballot without a miracle. I got
as many signatures as I did because every time someone of like mind
found out what the initiative was about they grabbed for
the chance to sign it. Having that experience over and over made this
initiative the most signature gathering fun I'd had since the last time
I got my own name on the ballot.
