It's easy to see why the Smokey Mountains are called "smoky mountains". Those tendrils of fog look a lot like smoke.

While I was out looking for a TN hat I'd like to wear, the kids went panning for good stuff at the (tourist ready) quarry. The most notable thing they found were arrowheads. Somebody told me that Lonnie said those arrowheads were "probably made by one of the Chinese or Mexican tribes." While we were talking about them, I said my Dad once had a bag of arrowheads he found exploring around the Palo Duro Canyon as a kid, but he couldn't remember what happened to them. Lonnie said "that's what usually happens to arrowheads, nobody can remember where they went."

Gas was cheap in Tennessee compared to California. I think gas was about 2.86ish in Californa at the time.
