After the wedding I wandered around a
bit and then my sister gave me a ride back to the hotel. My father and
Evelyn were already in bed, but I wasn't ready for that kind of thing.
I hung out with my brother and Brandy for a while. We talked about this
and that. In the background Larry King interviewed contestants from
Dancing With The Stars while the news of the world scrolled across the
bottom of the screen, one pithy factoid at a time.
I'm just shocked somebody would look at
that woman. Simply shocked.
I remember telling him that it had done
something to me to watch my little sister's daughter walk down the
aisle. I remember having a cat allergy attack at that apartment they'd
had
when she was a baby. Years before that I remember sitting in the back
seat while Tonia
and Bryant had an arguement about how to fix their car when it died
late at night on
some lonesome road when they were just dating and I
was a rare visitor from California. There has been so much water under
the bridge since then. Seeing Teresa get married was like a big "you
missed your chance to do that" signal.
I told my brother I thought it was
really cool that he was doing the family thing. He said he's glad that
I'm getting to know his kids at these family reunion trips.
I foget if it was Aiden and/or Liam
that threatened to wake up, but we turned it down again. We were
already
talking in hushed voices. Sometimes it was difficult for me to hear
what was being said.
Brandy spent some time farming in
farmville. I didn't pay much attention, but it was hard to ignore whole
fields being harvested with just a few clicks of the mouse pad on my
brother's laptop. After she was done I browsed facebook for a bit.
