I think of that ladder pattern as a "Stairway to Heaven". I don't see it often.

CNN was acting like it was 9/11 all over again. They were in live mode, with endless replays of a terrorist with a mask and a gun going by a window in some Indian hotel, footage of flames coming out of a window, and reporters ducking to the sound of gunfire. It seemed to me they were working too hard to relate it to the Obama transition.

This guy spent about an hour recounting exactly what had happened during Columbus's voyages to America. He was an interesting speaker, and I'm sure his books are great scholarship about that era.

By the time I went up to join everybody else, they had improved the graphics a lot.
