Katie hadn't bowled before, and she
wasn't quite clear on the concept. She'd drop the ball near the line
and it would get maybe half way to the pins and stop. I'd scoot down
the gutter to get it back. I tried to show her how it's done, but I'd
not thought about that challenge before.
The management came to the rescue. They
had a special chute, so all she had to do was aim the chute, heft the
ball onto it, and push.
After that we went out to eat at the
Waffle House. One of the waitresses was an old friend of my sisters,
one of the few people on the trip that heard my little speach.
