I went back later and took this picture of the stats board. The feel in the plaza was a lot like the one I remembered from my Apple days. Lots of young, energetic people wandering around, kind of organized in a "this is a party in a good way and I'm just doing my thing to contribute" way. It knocked my socks off how many people there are healthy enough to ride from places like San Francisco. We're talking about 40 miles each way.

Deb seemed like the honcho. There were quite a few interesting sights. Everybody that came in with a bike was issued an "I biked" sticker. They gave me one to. Attaching it gave me that "I voted" feeling of pride.

Unwheeldy was there, and people had lots of fun trying to ride it.

Don't remember seeing a "conference bike" before. Around the base is a bike chain like wheel that rotates on its axis like a smoke ring. Each pedaler connects to it via a wheel like a bike's front derailer with a big link from the chain around the base going through the middle of it. There is also a drive chain that links from it to the pair of wheels sticking out to the right.  The thing seats six riders. I'm still curious what riding it is like.

Google was giving these wash kits to anybody that rode their bikes to work. There was still a steady trickle of cyclists coming in when I left.
