I only saw two flags burned at the event. The guys that did it had a "Too bad Bush couldn't see this" attitude.

There were many more Republicans than shown in this row, but these were most of the ones that would interact with me. Most of the time I would walk up to one and say "I've a little speech I'm trying to share with as many people as possible. Would you like to hear it?"

They would usually brush me off with a comment like "I don't want to hear it." Sometimes I would hear "I don't want to interact." The kids on the left above thought my pitch was fine. The woman with all the Republican paraphernalia thought I was wrong, and that there is plenty of energy available.

The woman with the $$$ for Jobs sign spent some time explaining to me that she has been unemployed since November, the longest period she has been out of the workforce in thirty years of being an adult. She definitely wants the situation to change, and spends eight hours a day looking for work.

The woman with the buck in her hands had STOP HATE painted on her face.

I went through the whole event without seeing Bush, although I did see lots of bushes like the ones in the background of these pictures taken at the light rail stop where we caught the train back to Mountain View.
