Since the beginning of the war in Afghanistan, back in 2001 some time, there has been a peace vigil in downtown San Jose. I dropped by the Friday before Christmas and visited with them.

Seems to me that the general content of the signs has improved, and some of the original regulars have become less regular. Other than that, a lot of it is still the same. A lot of the cars going by still toot support as they pass, and there is still lots of entertaining conversation to be had. Barbie is still selling organic fair trade coffee and hot chocolate from a basket. I'll be using the coffee I got early in '08.
