Ever since just before the invasion of Iraq, there has been a regular peace vigil in downtown San Jose every Friday. For years I've been capturing pictures of it on a not quite annual basis. I figured I'd get the regulars again while I was in San Jose. It used to be that they met in front of the Federal building, but that has changed. It's still five to six PM, but now we do our thing in front of the Martin Luther King Jr. Library at 4th and San Fernando.

I almost got run over stepping into the street to take the picture about Afghanistan. I was so startled by that experience that I forgot to check to make sure I had a good picture. I didn't find out she had her eyes closed until I was processing my pictures, way too late to get another shot.

A guy wanted me to know about this book. He said it's a good read, and that it documents how you can get much more information from a terrorist without torturing that person. He urged more of us to check it out.
