I was looking for Green Drinks. I only had a general idea where the place was. Looking for that, I found Cirque du Soleil. I've been a big fan of them since Lisa organized a group of us to go see their Quidaam show back in my Orange County days.

I've learned that I need to hold this camera still when taking pictures in low light. It's hard to share that knowledge with a random stranger.

I managed to find Green Drinks about the time the speaker finished up. Then we did a go around of everybody introducing themselves quickly. I took this picture not long after I introduced myself. After that I went to wander the art galleries of First Friday.

The atmosphere in this one clearly indicated "come back later for a something else experience." Supposedly the big show would start at 9 PM.

I did see quite a few friends among the many faces. Didn't end up hanging with anybody for that long though.

The gallery where I took the equal picture asked me to stop taking pictures after I took this one. It was the first exhibit I saw there, so I took just one picture. They stopped bothering me when I put the camera in my pocket. After I left there I browsed MACLA. There photography is more like a free publishing medium for the content they want to share any way they can.

I'm still not sure if that fallen glass thing was an accident or part of the art. Nobody was making an effort to get it cleaned up, whatever that means.

I found this one incredibly funny for some reason.

This woman's art had a theme that "everybody needs a home." She made that sculpture of a home being buffeted by mother nature's whims and the housey hat to dramatize the point. She was the only artist I met that evening that was really working to drive home the point of her art widely. Good luck Betty A. Davis!

Each of the tents had a musician doing something in it, and when the light organist lit the tent that artist would do something. The beat was good, the show was unlike anything I'd seen before. What I remember enjoying more was talking to a young woman named Carrie.
