When I got there this guy was blaring
slogans like "Occupation is not Liberation" and "Troops Home NOW!" His
cohorts were hanging around making it an event.
I think the rain was
one factor in bringing the turnout down. My hat is off to the few that
had personal constitutions strong enough to handle the weather! The
radio called the day "our first good soaking in a long time." It's been
dry so long that nobody was complaining.
I talked to Aaron a bit. He said that
the war has directly caused the death of 3,888+ American Soldiers, and
the suicide of almost 17,000 Iraq War Vets. Both of these numbers are
small compared to the 1,129,913+ Iraqis that have died since our
invasion of their country.
I left when they
crossed the line onto Federal Government land. If they got arrested, I
had nothing to do with it.
