It's still true, San Jose Bike Party
stops at red lights. I'm still proud enough of the fact to share proof
with you.
Once it got dark, the theme of the
ride, "light your bike", came out. The only problem is, my camera is
cave man turn of the millenium technology. Because of that, you gotta
use some imagination to figure out what I really saw.
I think that these pictures work as
art, however un-representational they may be.
The sound cart was pumping out tunes
that were giving the event a festive quality.
All along the route, people would come
out of their houses to watch the bicyclists going by. We'd greet their
approval with choruses of "BIKE PARRRTAYYY!!" or "biiiiiikkkkeeee
PPPPPAAAAAAAARTY!" as usual. This time I occasionally called out
"SUBZERO PARTY!" in honor of the event we were sort of part of. I want
to assure you though, that "sub zero" was pure art. The evening was
warm and dry, perfect for enjoying a ride with a few hundred of your
closest friends.
