This months theme was "FREAK BIKES!" Decided to take as many pictures of those as I could easily get. Johnnie Bones was the first that made me get out the camera. That bike doesn't just have an impressive sound system. It also gives a good light show and dispenses bubbles or sparks when that's the right thing for it to do.
James and Tiffany were there to, along with many regulars that were a little less stand-out-ish, but still freaky in their own ways.
The bike polo freaks were demonstrating their sport. Fun to watch them steal the ball from each other and make goals. It truly takes a freaky ability to control your bike to play that game.
Managed to get one last picture before it was time to head for our corner. Got there before bike party and yelled "Right turn Bike Party!" or "Right on Alma!" many times as the parade went by. Later I learned Amy counted 551 of us going by at her turn.
This couple gave me cuteness overload. The dogs were comfortable enough in the side cars that they must spend time there regularly.
Not shown is that brief moment when I had people lined up to talk to me about the climate change issue. That was a surprise!
Didn't take that blurry shot until we'd been rolling for a mile or two after the first regroup. I kept up with them long enough to take this picture while we were near a street light. They must have had some pedal assist because they dusted me after that.
If you were watching from the sidewalk you'd see a river of bikes spaced about like this going by for about twenty minutes. Yeah, it ebbs and flows because sometimes a stop light breaks up the flow, or sometimes a whole herd of us want to listen to the same music. Being part of it gives me that "we are moving forward together" feeling.
The second regroup was mostly about just enjoying the evening with friends. After that I barely made the last train to Mountain View on the way home.
