Lately it's been difficult to get around San Jose because VTA's union is on strike. That boils down to a huge political test of wills. The transit workers asked us to spend some time on the picket line with them so we did.
It's hard to see in the picture, but Megan let me mark "DONT BE FUELISH" on her cast. You can sort of see it in green ink above the "FF" in "TIFF" near the bottom in the middle.
The strike committee had a whole bunch of tents across the street. Looked like they were settling in for a long occupation to get their point across. Plenty of food for anyone that wants to come out and wave a sign with them for a while. Lots of union brothers hanging out to share the experience with.
After we were there for an hour or so it was time to head out to bike party's "Double D" Ride. Didn't take any pictures again until something caught my eye.
What did it was Booble's rig. The lights were good, the music was good, and the fog even smelled good. Not sure the lights were flashing to the beat, but it was a good show for sure.
Once we got rolling I only took pictures when I was waiting for us to move forward again. This time the cause was a stoplight.
This time the cause was a railroad crossing where the barriers went down in front of us.
I think Nat interpreted the "DD" as "double drinks".
There was a year when Ronnie ran bike party with no help from anyone. I think it burned him out on us for a while. Since then we've rotated the leadership roles so it's not that hard on anyone again.
I think Jason interpreted the "DD" as "double dragons".
There could have been other theme participation, but if so there wasn't much of it. Many times people asked about the girlfriend. Just told them she was home sick, which was true enough. I didn't hang around too long after the ride ended because I wanted to see how she was doing. Turned out to be okay.
