Micheas poses by a Susan King sign on the window of Susan King headquarters.   Julian Davis, in a black hat, poses by his campaign literature with a big smile.
Micheas hanging out by the door to Susan King for Supervisor headquarters. I was invited to the office warming by a message on my answering machine that also informed me it was a car free campaign, so get there on the 38 Geary bus.

Julian Davis is one of the other Candidates for Supervisor. He dropped by to say "Hi" and have his picture taken.

Sue with a big grin stands in front of her painting showing Colin Campbell's peak oil prediction superimposed on a map of mother earth.   Two Volunteers with big smiles in pink. One has a fist raised, the other has a T Shirt with a raised fist on it.

Sue is the artist of that pink and tan oil painting behind her. It shows Colin Campbell's interpretation of the Hubert's Peak curve, as of a decade or so ago. Talking to her after taking the picture, she explained that since then world oil production has increased to about 84 million Bbl, higher than they thought it would go when the graph was made. The long term implication of this is that the downside of the oil supply curve will probably be steeper than the worst case line predicted it would otherwise have been.

Jeff sits and ponders something on the screen of a Macintosh laptop computer.   Tom smiles with a precinct map of District 5. Many precincts have yellow blotches on them.   Susan King and Monica pose for the camera with big grins on their faces.

Jim is doing documentation for the campaign, things like fundraising letters. He spent quite a bit of time working at his Macintosh before hanging out and gossiping.

Monica has been a friend of Susan's since the '80s. Right now she is a yoga instructor in Hawaii. She came back to California to take a certification test, and was glad to come to Susan's party.

Diamond Dave makes a point while sitting in a comfortable chair.   Two buttons. One says "Expecting progress without struggle is like expecting crops without plowing the ground". The other is a picture of mother earth, with the slogan "wecome home".

Diamond Dave is one of those people whose voice I am very familiar with, but I have not not seen at all until quite recently. I've heard him call in to KQED's Forum many times, but I had no face to put with the name. Nobody else sounds like the guy, and he likes to say things like "Don't panic, keep it organic!" It was neat to see him at Susan's event.

These were the buttons on Diamond Dave's hat. The fine print on the one with a picture of Fredrick Douglas reads "If there is no struggle there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom and yet renounce controversy are people who want crops without plowing the ground."

Smiling woman   Two guzs sit and talk about something.

Picture of nominating papers to get Terry Baum on the ballot as a write in Candidate.   Woman in dark glasses with a nice bicycle lauging at a joke.
Lots of those present signed Terry Baum's nominating papers. I couldn't, because I live in the 14th District.

Special thanks to Cameron Spitzer for loaning me a Linux based computer to do this page on while I waited for the new Macintosh I ordered to replace the one I gave my father as a wedding present.
