The woman on the bicycle was just passing by. I took her picture because I like seeing bicycles.

The above were happening on the corner of El Camino and Embarcadero.

Meanwhile, a couple of blocks south of us, at a medical office building, these two women were holding their own protest. I asked about it, and they explained to me that Dr. Commons had botched at least seventeen surgeries that they knew about. I had to shudder. They had no luck going through channels, so they had decided to go to the public. Sounded like becoming Dr. Commons patient is a bad idea.

A week later, some of the other regulars showed up:

This guy carries a stack of posters, some even more wordy than these. He rearranges it every now and then, giving passers by different things to look at. Most of us just hold one sign all evening.

Sometimes Elaine shows up with nothing on her whiteboard, and she asks for suggestions about what to put on it. One time I requested she write "SPACE ALIENS TOOK THE WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION!" and she did.

This vigil has grown quite a bit since the last time I documented it.
