I got to California Ave in Palo Alto before the event was really under way. Still, everywhere I looked someone was a great photo op.
The light changed and suddenly there was another parade of pedestrians coming out of the woodwork to join in.
Betcha there were a meelee of dancers digging the band a bit later. Didn't hang around for that.
Gas is $5.999/gallon!? Boggles my mind. Seems like not long ago that it was $5.40ish.
Rode with them for a while. Thanks for the tunes and smiles!
I could see that it went on that way for a ways, but I was already in Sunnyvale and I didn't want to go further. Besides, about then a bike party went by going the other way.
I decided to follow them back north.
Spent the last fifteen minutes or so of the event hanging out at Castro & El Camino. Ray dropped by. He'd been at some event at the Computer History Museum. In the decades I've known him, this is one of the very few times I'd seen him on a bike.
The lady that showed me her El Culero card said the phrase translates as "The Asshole".
Mike Kasperzak is one of those people that knows everybody. He said at least a couple thousand of us were out in Mountain View. He counted several intersections. There were 600 just near Castro & El Camino.
On the way home I passed this gathering on City Hall Plaza. You can tell by the flags they aren't down for the whole peace thing. I tried to get closer, but a nice enough lady suggested the event wasn't for me. Since I wasn't looking for trouble I continued on with my journey.
