It hasn't been a great rain year, but good enough that most of my plants are doing well.

That chard patch reliably gives me plenty of chard for another bowl of soup. That's at least five ounces of leaves several times a week. Amazingly good plants. So worth the space!

The tarragon and oregano seem well established now. Last year I dried some of both, but I never really used the dry herbs. Than when these came back to life I started adding them to my food again. So yummy! Not going to dry them again this year. Just take a stem full of leaves to add to my cooking soon is the best harvest strategy.

The blueberry bush was given me by Cameron and Susan in the dead of winter. TheGirlfriend and I planted it before the rain really got going. So glad to see all the blossoms!

The goji berries continue to do okay in their pot. Just waking up right now, but I'm sure they'll be fine later on.

Browsing my seed collection, I realized I was down to my last envelope of fava beans. The plan for these is to get them to the end of the growth cycle and then save the seeds so I can plant them again next time I want a convenient winter cover crop.

The pink rose bush continues to be the oldest plant in this plot.

In previous years it wasn't hard to find lodge poles. Those were round treated wood about two inches in diameter and eight to ten feet long. Perfect for staking grapes and stuff like that. Unfortunately, the places where I used to get them are gone from the local retail scene. This time I bought a redwood 2 x 2 and a plane. Took me an hour or so to plane the end down to a point and then it went in just fine. I'll be doing that again as needed.

The parsley start was a feral seedling that came up in the common area. The oregano and chives have been there longer.

These kales were also wind pollinated local seed. Saw them growing in the hallway near where another plot had kale plants that went to seed. Couldn't resist giving them a shot.

I call this my garlic field.

That wire contraption was supposed to be a nursery for lettuce starts but they never came up. I blame some bird that snuck through my wire enclosure.

Those leeks I planted a year ago should have been harvested before. The rain has give them a nice growth spurt, and we've been eating them recently. Quite delicious.

The watercress came up as volunteers. Haven't had any yet, still waiting for the right time to harvest some.
