Feb. 9th, 2022: My hat is off to this redwood tree! By sheer majestic beauty it talked the humans across the street into standing up to the developer that wanted to make it into a memory. Literally. Last evening I watched the Mountain View City Council agonize for more than an hour about the fate of this grove. In the end they sent the plan back to the developer and told him "Cut back on the parking for your new 350ish unit buildings and save the redwoods!" So awesome that this 100+ year old redwood can sock it to the cars. Thank you tree for standing close enough to the Caltrain/VTA station that people who don't drive cars will be able to live car free and rent on a car parking spot free lifestyles in that complex. Thank you Mountain View City Council Member Alison Hicks for your leadership on the issue!
