I didn't think much of this lady bug until I sat down to rest about half way through walking the precinct list it was on. Then I took this picture, just to document the fact that it existed. When I turned in my leftover door hangers and the marked up list at the end of the day, I looked over the very few literature stacks that nobody had gotten to. I noticed that only a couple had red bugs like mine. The rest were orange shown from the top instead of the side, but otherwise quite similar.
About that time Mr. Paradise came around the corner. He had also been walking for Greg Perry. I pointed out the bugs to him and he said "I should have thought of you when I saw mine." He has known for years that I was working on making life into a videogame. We traded gossip for a while. He is voting for Kasperzak, Neely, Perry, and Karney. He's scandalized by the money Brown is raising. She has done nothing to deserve the rights to put the Sierra Club's name on her website either. I'm voting for Karney, Perry, Neely, and Bivings. Three out of four is a lot of common ground.
Then Greg entered from the alleyway. He had just finished walking a precinct himself. He looked into the box and got the 2nd to last precinct with a red bug out. I asked him if the bugs were color coded or something like that, and he explained that the red ones were precincts he hadn't had a chance to inform about his campaign before, and the orange ones were in the "reminder to vote" category. Getting every precinct in Mountain View is a huge job, and because of that he deserves every vote he gets.
I had to wait while they talked a bit because Paradise's bicycle was blocking the walkway mine was also parked on. It says something that there was a bike jam on the walkway. Now I wish I had figured out at that time that I could have done the other remaining precinct. The reason I didn't was that my feet were killing me. I am so ready for this election to be over.

BTW: Greg Perry is one local candidate whom I could talk into making a chicken move. <-Click there to see it.
P.S. Ladybugs are generally thought of as good bugs here in California.
P.P.S. I picked up a 500mL bottle of SAFEWAY water from the Greg Perry Campaign.
