I'm proud of our county for turning out 71 plus percent of registered voters! The next evening Peter mentioned that he got something like seven times the vote of Cynthia McKinney, our top of the ticket Green. The consensus was that the air had been sucked out of her campaign by the nomination of Barak Obama, something that couldn't have been predicted last winter. I think Ralph Nader being the Peace and Freedom Party candidate also sucked something out of the Green Party. In any case, our Presidential candidate didn't do that well this time.

Looking at the above, it's easy to get the impression that Peter did MUCH better than Carol. However, that doesn't tell the whole story. The 14th Dist is only partly in Santa Clara County. See below for further results.

Carol thinks the main reason she did better in Santa Cruz and Santa Clara counties is that she ran ads in those Counties.
