One of the great
things about camping there was that we were a five minute walk from a
huge lake that was almost as warm as a bathtub. I spent a lot of the
afternoon swiming, and lots of other people did to. Valerie walked
around the lake. I didn't want my camera near the water, so I can't
show you pictures of it. Just know it was a great place to escape the
heat.
Those plants are
all natives. Our friend picked them for his collection. The tags on
their bottoms have their names on them. I'm wishing I had gotten enough
detail on them to share that information with you.
This stove was
fascinating. It was not hard for the guy to light, but he had to keep
tending it. Every minute or so he would add another piece of wood from
that pile, which was plenty big enough to cook water with. Craig also
cooked using scrounged fuel.
About 10:30 PM,
the law came by and told us we had to stop making
music. After that we told jokes and other stories until late.
