My brother and sister did the
summers of their teenybopper years at ARE camp. It's part of the
Association for Research in Enlightenment, or something like that.
That's Edgar Cayce's Virginia Beach based group. My Mom was a big
fan of theirs. My brother and sister loved the camp a lot. After
our other sister died they'd used the donations they got from her
memory to build a library building. Unfortunately the original
library had been done in by water damage. They were currently
using the building for storage and as a massage studio. The
current management remembered us well, and was glad to take the
library, as long as we brought it there and installed it
ourselves.
To make a long story short, we got
the library installed as promised. Not in any particular order
mind you, just out of the boxes and into the shelves. Since doing
that I've been telling people "if you want to find the key to
world peace, look in that library."
We were there the day that a batch
of campers were showing up for the next session. As my brother put
it "the perfect time." It seemed like half the people we talked
to, and all of the old timers, remembered him well. There was lots
of trading stories about mutual friends. Bruce is married with
children in North Carolina now. Remember Karen? She died of cancer
a couple of years ago. They all enjoyed catching each other up on
such news. Sounded to me like Lal wants to come back with his
family next year if he can get away from work.
