I'm running for City Council because
Mountain View is a great place to live and/or work and I want it to
stay that way. We need:
Better transit services
Pedestrian
and bicyclist safety
Solar power in city buildings
More affordable housing,
especially near transit
Working together on
environmental issues
Background:
I have lived in Mountain View since 1984, except for eight years in the
1990s when I worked in Sacramento, Washington DC, and Orange County.
When I left I was still an electrical and software engineer, working
for computer and information management companies. In 1999 I returned
to Mountain View with enough resources to work full time as an
environmental activist. Since then I have focused on building awareness
of the need for structural changes in our economy to deal with climate
change issues.
Last
spring I was one of the other Candidates for U.S.
Senator. I got 37% of the votes in the Green Party Primary and was the
front runner in many
counties including ours. The goal of that campaign was to tell as
many people as possible "we need to stop voting for oil
companies at the gas pump." I have a track
record of running clean campaigns that get the word out on important
issues.
