Maybe a couple of times a year, I browse the internet to see what other Harters are up to. Christmas 2002, I found this:

I guess he looks like a Harter. The album is country music, which the guy has a good voice for. Listening to the thing I was struck by how many states he mentions. Two of the songs have them in the titles, "Everything in Arizona" and "Somewhere in California". Also mentioned are Oklahoma, Tennessee, Louisiana, Indiana, and Colorado. Harter was listed as author of the 5th and 10th tracks, and as a co-author on the 9th one.

There is a "country moment" in store for anyone that takes the CD out of it's case. Under the platter I found:

I also have a good memory of a Dick. When I worked at Step Engineering, one of the senior programmers was Larry Dick. He taught me that making printouts of my software to look at while debugging was very unnecessary. Since then I have used much less paper in my work, and it has not had a negative impact on my productivity. If anything the results have been good, because searching for something online is much more efficient than browsing for it through pages of paper. I don't think Larry is dead though, even though I haven't talked to him for at least a decade.
