She was headed for Citrus Camp with nice grapefruit. I wondered if she was taking coals to Newcastle.

This guy was giving a lecture at Singularity Point camp. I sat and listened for about two seconds and then this woman put a strong drink in my hand. It was hot. The drink was cold. The guy pointificated about how the sun is about half way through its life as a star. I found myself thinking about that book I read that said we have consumed about half the oil mother earth had a hundred years ago. The drink got lighter in my hand. The people walking by on the street outside started looking more interesting than the scientist or whatever he was.

The Japanese couple with the TransDimensionalMystic were on their first Burning Man. They had apparently been looking for a place to camp and had settled on the little square between our junk yard and the road. Now I'm kicking myself for not condensing that pile of stuff to give them more space and a better place. At the time it didn't occur to me, and they were too polite to drop a clue I could figure out on the topic. Anyhow, they were good neighbors. They even gave us yummy watermelon.

Over dinner we talked about all the wild things we had seen and done during the day. Everybody was in a good mood. There were only a few hours to go before the event Burning Man got its name from.
