I took this picture about a quarter of a mile from the man, with my zoom zoomed in all the way. The laser beam coming out of the base of the man was twenty feet off the ground, and parallel to it, going out to the mountains beyond the edge of the playa.

This grasshopper is really about six feet tall and ten feet wide. It was just illuminated wires attached to a bicycle.

Entering this tent I found a number of pannels that explained some of the quantum effects associated with light and how it is percieved.

At Burning Man, very little light is used for ambient illumination. The focus is more on spot lighting in ways that make a statement of some sort. Of all the pictures I took from up in the kaleidascope tower, this was the only one with a lot to see in it.

This was yet another interesting vehicle. I think this one was based on a golf cart or something like that.

The man was actually 50 feet tall, and the base was a pyramid at least as high. All around the base of the temple were gods and goddesses in little alcoves like these. The main job requirement for being a diety seemed to be an interesting costume, or lack thereof.
