Driving down to Uvas Canyon, the road winds past some nice looking places and farms...

Once we got past the trail head, we had to be careful of poison oak.

The trail was steep and beautiful. Every now and then I'd see something else worth photographing, but mostly it was just hiking through beautiful scenery in perfect weather.

After we climbed a long steep hill we came to a fork in the road. First we went right, which led to the top of Knibbs Knob. We sat down there and rested before moving on.

There were trees all around the top of the hill. They blocked most of the view, but I liked this one of the fog coming over the hill.

Then we went the other way, which was only a quarter mile or so of pushing uphill.

Beyond the trailhead there were just a bunch of private property signs on a crummy road.

The view of Knibbs Knob was simply great.

That solar panel is there just to run the lights on the post. I think the box at the bottom is a battery. It's far enough from "civilization" that running power lines out to it makes no sense.

I could swear I've seen pictures of this staircase in some famous photography book.

Passing this lake, we saw that the water line was WAY below where you would want it to be near the end of rainy season. I hope we get more rain before the season is over.
