I underestimated how long it would take to get there. About the time I took this picture there was a round of applause and people stood up. I'd just missed the ceremony. June and Woody were married.

There was always someone else congratulating the happy couple.

After just a bit of schmoozing Medea invited us all to watch Woody & June dance the first dance, to an old Cowboy Junkies tune. I want to say it was Anniversary Song, but that might not be right.

After that the band took the stage and kept us all dancing for quite a while.

Then there were words of advice from relatives. First up was Woody Hastings, who had some advice for the younger Woody Hastings.

Then Jane Brashares had some things to say to the former June Brashares. I vividly remember her telling about June being the first person in San Diego County to have an electric car.

I think this guy was the one that mentioned that Woody was one of the first people anywhere with a Hydrogen car.

The Aunt talked about how her economist husband always knew what Woody wanted based on what used less energy and was better for Mother Earth.

Then Medea had all of the family members come down for the toast, which was to be done with cupcakes. That was the Woody & June version of a cake cutting ceremony. The cupcakes were made from June's own recipie.

June showed me the redwood tree they had planted near the wedding site. We're hoping it grows. While I was talking to her I gave her the only Arizona quarter in my pocket. I mentioned that when my father was young it was the last State in the USA. Now it's just the last State in the lower 48. I also to get them a pair of cherry trees as soon as planting season rolls around.

I told the blond her URLs would still be getting seen long after the flower is just a memory.

The family sang one song for the rest of us. By this time I'd had a lot of the cheer, so all I can remember was that I enjoyed listening to it.

The last song was one that Woody wrote for the occasion, basically a wish for the listener to have a long, peaceful, and meaningful life.

After that I put my camera down and helped with cleanup. There was a woman in a purple top named Jennifer that also helped. She was going back to Santa Cruz after the wedding, so it wasn't hard to talk her into giving me a ride to Mountain View.  Jim was the other guy she gave a ride to. I'm kicking myself for not getting a picture of her, she was quite beautiful. Anyhow, her car was parked by the buffalo pen, so I got a few pictures of them to.
