On the 11th of almost every month for
years Carol has put her table out on Lytton Plaza from 11 AM to 1 PM. I
say almost because she's not there on rainy days; nor on the rare
occasion when she has an important schedule conflict.
Usually she gives out free deception
dollars and fliers to everybody going by that wants one, and sells
stickers, buttons, books, DVDS and so forth to anybody who wants to
find out more about these issues.
I've only read a few of those books,
but I'm sure they all have something to say. The gist of it is that the
official story about 9/11 has more holes in it than either of the
colanders I use to strain my spaghetti.
The rolls are for
people that want something but can't handle all the sugar, chocolate,
and butter in the cookies. They give the "9/11 TRUTH and cookies" on
the banner real truth in advertising. Carol is a great baker, and she
just wants you to hear a little truth if you get near enough to have
some.
Quite a few local activists come down
to hang around the plaza and talk while Carol is there. The smoker was
one of those. He didn't really want to be in my pictures, but the time
he spent explaining to me the implications of feeling ownership for a
large political jurisdiction and not needing to "cut the grass" in it
left me so confused I just wanted to share something of what I saw with
you. The artist who made the Stanford logo and torture victim collage
also wanted to fade into the background. He wanted you to see his work
that was inspired by Condoleezza Rice coming back here after so many
years in Washington though.
Carol is hoping that recent calls for a
"Truth Commission" from Congress will amount to something. If you want
to do a good deed, let your Member of Congress know that the Bush
Administration needs to be held accountable for the many tragic things
they have done to the credibility of the USA. As P. John
Anderson told me, "we need some convictions to set the record straight."
Viva the truth
revolution!
