I saw the newscast this screen shot was
part of. The guy in the picture said something like "most Americans say
they believe in God. Spiritual but not religious Americans believe
in God more as a force of nature than a person." I think that was more
or less the gist of it anyhow.
My personal feeling is that the
European thing about God on his throne in heaven being some abstract
version of the sovereign on his/her throne here just isn't American. I
know some English-Americans that are just fascinated by whatever the
Queen is involved with, but I just don't get it. Don't get me started
on whatever the relationship is between the Catholics and their Pope is
supposed to be. As for the laws of physics, I'm convinced that Helium
is an inert gas. I'm hoping inert means to you about what it means to
me, dear reader.
