That green bottle with the vaguely
brazilian looking logo may feature an Amazonian fruit, but the address
of the company that presented themselves as the source on the back it
is in Southern California. I have no idea what, if any, real connection
they have with Brazil.
I like the fact
that they use Real money in Brazil.
During the
National Green Party Convention in Denver at the end of June,
2000 I walked up to Marco Mroz from the Partido Verde Brasil (my
understanding
is that the guy is an elected Green) and said "We are the free trade
organization
for people that don't like the WTO." He agreed with me, so I walked
away.
I didn't want to waste any time on spin that could be misunderstood.My
feeling
is that as long as the South American Greens honor what I understand to
be
"Green Values," they will be OK.
