"I started out on burgandy, but soon reached the harder stuff..." Bob Dylan

I find myself hoping that the redwoods will outlast Stranger, but at this point it looks dubious.

Too much short term thinking in the political system.

When I first posted this page, I asked if anybody could tell me who had done these pictures. Eight months later (10/30/01), I found this note from Steve in my mailbox:

>

The artist who did the jacket cover for "The Door into Summer" was Mel Carter. He is mainly known for cover art on periodicals like "Amazing Stories", "Galaxy Science Fiction", "If" and "The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction".

>

"Methuselah's Children" was done by someone named Romas. I have no more information on this one.

>

"Beyond This Horizon" was created by A. J. Donnell. He also did the covers for books like "The Forbidden Garden", "Sinister Barrier", "The Incredible Planet", and several of the Lensman series of books by E.E. "Doc" Smith.

I still don't know who did the cover art for "The Day After Tomorrow" or "Rogue in Space". Fredric Brown is a fairly unknown writer, but Heinlein fans seem to enjoy his books. This is the only one I have, but other fans assure me there are others.
